The Rev. Richard Hynes, M.Div., M.A.S. Director, Department of Evangelization, Catechesis and Worship
Fr. Rich Hynes is a priest of the Archdiocese of Chicago, incardinated in 1991. Ordained for the Church of Newark in 1972, he served in parish ministry, as executive director of the National Federation of Priests’ Councils, associate pastor of Saint James in Arlington Heights, Saint Martin de Porres, and St. Athanasius in Evanston and as pastor of Saint John of the Cross Parish in Western Springs. Fr. Hynes was also a spiritual formator at Saint Joseph College Seminary. Appointed by Cardinal George to the Archdiocesan Administrative Council as Director of the Department of Evangelization, Catechesis and Worship, Fr. Hynes oversees 18 agencies of the archdiocese as they serve the parishes, ethnic and age groups within the Church of Chicago. Fr. Hynes holds a master of divinity degree from Immaculate Conception Seminary at Seton Hall University and a master of applied spirituality from the University of San Francisco. Read Fr. The Rev. Thomas A. Baima, S.T.D. Provost, University of Saint Mary of the Lake Archbishop’s Liaison for Formation Programs Fr. Tom Baima is a priest of the Archdiocese of Chicago, ordained in 1980. After serving for twelve years in full-time parish ministry at Our Lady of the Wayside and St. Damian parishes, he was appointed the Director of the Archdiocesan Office for Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs. After advanced studies, in 2000 he joined the faculty of the University of Saint Mary of the Lake / Mundelein Seminary. In addition to his work as provost of the university, Fr. Baima is a professor in the Department of Systematic Theology and the Liturgical Institute. Cardinal George named him to the Archdiocesan Administrative Council as liaison between the University and the Pastoral Center with supervisory responsibility for the Ministry Formation programs which are part of USML. Fr. Baima holds a doctorate in ecumenical studies from the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas in Rome. Read Fr. Baima’s reflections on the New Translation
The Rev. Louis J. Cameli, S.T.D. Archbishop’s Delegate for Formation and Mission Fr. Lou Cameli is a priest of the Archdiocese of Chicago, ordained in 1969. He served on the faculty of the University of Saint Mary of the Lake / Mundelein Seminary in a number of roles including professor of spiritual theology, Director of Spiritual Life and President of the Ecclesiastical Faculty of Theology. Fr. Cameli was the founding director of the Office for Ongoing Formation of Priests. He also served as pastor of Divine Savior Parish in Norridge. Appointed by Cardinal George as the Archbishop’s Delegate for Formation and Mission, Fr. Cameli now serves as a resource theologian to the agencies of the Pastoral Center.
