Sabbatical Program

Sabbaticals at Mundelein are available to priests, religious and lay ecclesial ministers as well as academics.  The sabbatical can take a number of forms.  The most common form is for a person to come to Mundelein for one or more full academic terms and to participate in the daily liturgical life of the seminary while auditing two or three upper division classes. 

 

Another option is for the person to follow a self-directed study program using the library while participating in the liturgical life of the campus.  The Office of the Provost will be happy to discuss how to make the best of the Mundelein Sabbatical experience. 

 

A third option is the summer sabbatical.  A person may attend the Summer Scripture Seminar—our main continuing education program, and add time before or after the seminar to create an opportunity for rest, recreation, prayer and study.  Participating in the Summer Scripture Seminar allows a person interaction with some of the best biblical scholars in the United States.
