Msgr. Robert J. Dempsey holds an A.B.Clas. and an M.A. in philosophy from Loyola University of Chicago,  an S.T.B. from the Pontifical Gregorian University, an S.T.L. from the University of Saint Mary of the Lake, and an S.T.D. from the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome. In 1991 he was appointed editor of the weekly English edition of L’Osservatore Romano, the Vatican’s newspaper, where he served ten years.  He is currently pastor of St. Philip the Apostle Parish in Northfield, Illinois.
