Mundelein, Illinois The Second Vatican Council affirmed the importance of preaching in the life of the Church, stating that "through the saving Word the spark of faith is struck in the hearts of unbelievers, and fed in the hearts of the faithful" (Presbyterorum Ordinis, 4). In the Spirit, the beauty of the Word preached has the power to move hearts and transform lives. Given the charge of preaching to the faithful, priests and deacons share the responsibility to preach effectively and fruitfully, carrying forth the Word to every generation and leading souls to Christ.This workshop will address practical as well as spiritual dimensions of preaching, from preparation of the mind and heart as well as recent documents from the Holy Father.
