Welcome to the Writing Center
We are here to assist you to get started with your writing assignments, to enhance your research skills, and to conform your final paper with the style requirements of the University.
All of the Library Staff are available to assist you from 8:30am to 6:00pm most weekdays. You can also call x4820 or email AskALibrarian@usml.edu with questions. Additionally, the Writing Center is open from 7:00-9:00pm on Tuesday night at the Feehan Circulation Desk. For more in-depth assistance, you can make an appointment with the Library Director by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
The USML writing manuals present guidelines for formatting content, notes, and bibliographies.
USML Writer's Manual - the basic guide governing all academic papers submitted for degree programs.
Each degree program has a specialized manual, based on the Writer's Manual, but giving more specific instructions:
USML Pontifical Facutly of Theology Scholar's Manual - the guide for STB papers, STL theses, and STD dissertations.
USML Masters Degrees Thesis Manual - a guide for the Masters (Philosophy & Religion), Liturgical Institute Masters, and MA is Pastoral Studies theses.
USML Doctor of Ministry Manual - the guide for DMin project papers.
Writing Center Resources
Many titles helpful to the academic writer and ESL student are available at the Feehan Circulation Desk in the ESL:Writing Center Course Reserves.
We recommend using reference management software like Zotero to organize your notes and bibliographic materials.
You may also view the on-line writing and citation help available through the Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL).
These online guides compile resources to help you begin research in specific topics. You can access this material through the USML Moodle. Log into the USML Moodle with your Username and Password or log in as a Guest.
