Library Adds Theology and Latin Databases

The Library now provides access to two Brepols Databases:

Index Religiosus: the international bibliography of theology, religious studies, and church history. Published in partnership with the Catholic University of Louvain, the database combines the Elenchus Bibliographicus of the Ephemerides Theologicae Lovanienses and the Revue d’histoire ecclesiastique, which are now discontinued in print. The database currently contains over half a million bibliographic entries and 123,000 reviews. The database also contains links to information in the classic reference work Dictionnaire d’histoire et de geographie ecclesiastiques, which is also available full-text.

Library of Latin Texts Complete (LLT Series A and B):  cross-searchable databases of texts from the beginning of Latin literature (Livius Andronicus, 240 BC) through to the texts of the Second Vatican Council. The texts have been taken from the Corpus Christianorum series and from many other leading editions.

To access these databases, go to http://www.brepolis.net/ and click through to the database you desire. When you are asked, click on the “IP Recognition” button.

We are working on adding these databases to the Electronic Resources lists, so for now you may want to bookmark the URL. Please contact AskALibrarian@usml.edu if you have any issues with access. We are working on setting up user authentication for off-campus use.
