Lay Ministry Alumni Program

The Lay Ministry Alumni Program (LMAP) provides ongoing formation, continuing education, and peer sharing for graduates of former lay ministry formation programs including Called & Gifted.  Launched in 2012 as a pilot project, LMAP became an official program of the Institute for Lay Formation in summer 2014.

The program's inaugural formation day, “Who Do You Say that I Am?” took place in October 2012 at the University of St. Mary of the Lake.  It was attended by 65 graduates representing 17 cohort years and over 30 parishes.  It was a time of reconnecting with classmates, renewing personal spirituality, sharing with peer ministers, and remembering the energy and camaraderie of previous formation days.

With continued support and attendance from the alumni, LMAP plans to hold 3–4 formation days each year featuring notable presenters.  Relevant topics will be drawn from areas of theology, ministerial skills, catechesis, and spirituality.
