Institute for Lay Formation
Overview
The Archdiocese of Chicago has been blessed with many lay women and men who love God and wish to serve Him. The Institute for Lay Formation, a part of the University of St. Mary of the Lake, exists in order to foster the development of these men and women so that they may best respond to God’s call. This call can come in many forms and the Institute has continued to develop its programming in response to these different calls.
We welcome you to our website and we wish you good reading. As you navigate you will be invited to contact us and we hope that you do just that. Oftentimes conversations are the best way to discern, learn and explore. So please feel free to contact us either by phone or email.

Linda Couri traveled to John Carroll University in Ohio to attend a conference on the impact of the Second Vatican Council on the laity in the Church.

As part of this year’s Chicago Catechetical Conference, Live Your Faith Boldly, Katarzyna Kasiarz presented a workshop entitled, “Leaven for the World: Reading & Applying Gaudium et Spes.”
