The Vice Rector for Academic Affairs
Dean of the Graduate School of Theology
The Very Rev. Thomas A. Baima, M.B.A., S.T.D. is Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of
the University of Saint Mary of the Lake and Dean of the Seminary and Graduate School of Theology. A professor in the Department of Systematic Theology, Father Baima is Vicar for Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs of the Archdiocese of Chicago, and nationally recognized as an specialist in these fields. Father Baima has been an active member of the USML faculty teaching in the areas of ecclesiology, ecumenism and interreligious dialogue and mission. He is a Fellow of the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem where he works on the Christian Leadership Initiative. He served as provost of the University for 11 years, before being named vice rector and dean. His other teaching appointments have included adjunct professor of ecumenical theology at the Institute of Ecumenical Studies of the Ukrainian Catholic University and adjunct assistant professor of theology at Seattle University School of Theology and Ministry. Before joining the faculty of USML, Father Baima served in various administrative positions in church-related not-for-profit organizations. He was President of the Illinois Conference of Churches, and Director of the Office for Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs of the Archdiocese of Chicago. He served for twelve years full time as a parish priest.

Dr. Elizabeth Nagel, S.S.D., is president of the Pontifical Faculty of Theology at Mundelein.
The Associate Academic Dean of Mundelein Seminary and Graduate School of Theology
Dr. Christopher McAtee is Associate Academic Dean of the Seminary and Graduate School. An assistant professor in the Department of Pastoral Theology, Dr. McAtee has an established record in research concerning priestly formation. He was a member of the research team which produced In Fulfillment of Their Mission: a study of the duties of the Catholic priest and most recently authored Living Our Faith Today: A Catholic Identity Assessment and Planning Process. Prior to coming to Mundelein, Dr. McAtee was Director of Campus Ministry at Alverno College, when he was also a member of the Department of Student Services and taught in the Department of Religious Studies.
Mary Ann Ulz, B.B.A., Registrar
Mrs. Ulz joined the staff of the University of Saint Mary of the Lake in 1997. She first served as a library assistant in the Feehan Memorial Library. She was promoted to Registrar of the University of Saint Mary of the Lake in 2000.
Mary Bertram, Administrative Assistant
Mrs. Bertram has served in the Office of Academic Affairs since 1991. She handles all of the administrative operations of the office and coordinates all immigration matters for students of the University.
